Bladesmith · Wellsville, New York
Forged to shape,
not cut from flat.
Handmade kitchen cutlery, field knives, folders and ironwork, forged by Seth Boehnke from raw bar stock in a one-person shop.
The work
Blades are forged to shape rather than cut from flat stock. It is slower, and it is the reason a knife can be taken thin without becoming fragile.
Every piece is handmade: forged, ground, heat treated and finished by one person. There is no production line and no second shift, which means the work is slow—and that if something is ever wrong with a piece, you are talking to the person who made it.
